I took my Mazda Rx4 to Mazfix on 1st February 2012. The Salesperson Call John quoted me to do the Hilux conversion price in total is $3450 AUD. Will finished in 3-4 weeks time frame. However I had done couple quote already. The other mechanic down in Yatala would do it for me around $2200 if i supply the whole diff plus the centre which i can find it from the wrecker in capalaba for $560 which include the diff centre for 4.3 ratios. I had inform John that I can supply the whole diff, However he said he the price that he quoted me $3450 is included the diff. So i didn't supply one. So we made a verbal agreement for Total of $3450 to do the hilux diff conversion. After two days I went to mazfix I had added some extra to the car which is Mazfix Turbo bag, Fab New oild drain, Boost pipe, Custom top radiator Hose s/s They charge me another $740. Which I agreed with the price with John in their shop After one week. I rang up to find out how much in total. The sales person John said they still working on the price. So I wait for them to call me back. But they haven't After two weeks, I went to Melbourne on 17 February. I rang him up. They said they are buzy, will ring me back ASAP. After all they still haven't ring me back. 3 weeks later on 21 Feb 2012 . I was getting worry because My friends told me that they will charge too much and ripe me off. So I rang John again to ask him the price again. He said he will ring me back. After one hour he rang me and tell me the price is $5400 AUD in total. I was shocked that so dear. So i went to their shop in Underwood again to find out. John said that he realized when they sent to diff over there is extra charge of $1210 for the diff centre. But I ask him this is not the first time that they do the diff conversion for customer. But he said he is new. Anyway. Mazfix advised that they made the fastest rotary in the world. However, They had been doing business for years. I don’t' believe this is the first time they do the conversion as John would gave me the quote without thinking. However, They didn't ask me there are extra charge of the diff centre if i am willing to go ahead or not. (They had done this to people all the time without asking permission, then charged people) After all I found out there are so many people had the same situation as me, but didn't complaint or fail to complaint. So i guess i am not the first one. On the 27th Feb. I wouldn't wait any more because it's about 4 weeks now. So I ask them to hurry I had to get the car. They said the still waiting on the hand brake cable to put on. I don't want them to touch my car anymore because they are not the proper mechanic to do the job. John told me they will still waiting on the hand brake cable to come back, probably on Monday. I told him that I will get the car on 28th Feb 2012. I don't want to wait. John said they still haven't finished the hose and other parts such as tail shaft. So I went to their shop to sit their and wait. Seriously they haven't done anything just hang the diff on the car. I told them I had to get the car today. It only took them half hour then finished the job, But not handbrake on. They said they will put on for me on 7 March for free. Anyway, I got no choice, the only way to get my car out is to pay the money. So I paid $3700 cash and $1500 with master card, Total is $5200 (only have $200 discount) It's about 5pm on the 28th Feb 2012. I was driving the car half way home. They was no clutch. I didn't know what happen. So I rang John up that I don't have a clutch. He seen had prepare for the call. He said :" There is not much thing we can do. I had organise a tow truck for you to tow the car to our shop. We can have a look at it tomorrow. But will be extra charge." I said:" No. I don't need your help" So I called my friend have a look at the car. he said the master cylinder of the clutch is broken. Don’t know why. I assume mazfix swap a broken one in my car. I was buzy on that Wednesday, 7 March 2012 . So I rang up and told them that can I rearrange the time. The boss said yes, But will be extra charge to put the handbrake cable on. I asked the boss what about the Modification Plate. He said will be extra $250 as well. After one weeks. I found out the exhaust is actually hitting the Diff breathing pipe. Which they didn’t check. And a noice come out from the diff centre. So I rang them up again. They said they are buzy. Because the breathing pipe is for release the heat of the pipe. I had the fix this matter ASAP. But they said if they redo the exhaust they have to charge me extra. I said:” No I will ask a professional people to do it.” So I went to right price exhaust. At slacks creek. They fixed it for me in 2 hours. In total of $165.06. But Mazfix said they charge $160 per hour. If I get them to do it. I don’t know much I am going to spend and how long it will take. And I knew they are not that kind of professional people. So I better leave that for Right price exhaust. Address is 53 Moss st. Slacks creek. They are hopeless I can get at least 10 people that been ripped off by Mazfix. That had the same experience as me. Please investigate this matter. If not people will still ripped of by them out there. They had to charged me more money to do the job. I had paid for it what it needs to be done. After all there are still more charge. Even now my handbrake still sitting inside the car. I had not handbrake so I couldn't drive the car. I don't want to spend any more. from $3450 jump up to $4660. Now still ask for more. That's not right. They are the one who done the conversion. Whatever problem that causes to the car that’s their problem. I am not the specialist. I am not paying for their mistake. That’s not my fault. I want then to fix for me to solve the problem: Pay me back $1210 for the ripped off, and $165.05 for the pipe redo from right price exhaust. Put the handbrake cable for me for free. fix the noice of the raddling for free Write me a modification plate for the job that they done to the car for free Or I can ask other mechanic to fix the matter above and sent them the bill.
