西洋電影裡，常常可以看到父母會在小孩年幼時，閱讀「睡前故事」（Bedtime story），讓小孩能快速進入夢鄉，而有美國研究就顯示，透過說故事、讀文章等類似閱讀較長句子的做法，將會有效增進小孩的腦部發展.
