我从logan回来, 远处就看见sunnybank方向有大片浓烟往天上涌, 我家住在runcorn, 可以清楚的闻见味道和看见烟雾

看来火势不小啊, 谁知道怎么回事?

刚刚路过Altandi火车站 也是很大的烟 和一股浓浓的 烟味

火烧旺地啊！！！

是山上的火哦~很多樹木燒光光了

FIREFIGHTERS have quelled a grass fire that came within five metres of a home in Sunnybank this afternoon.

Fourteen firemen were called in after multiple calls about large volumes of smoke heading in a North-Easterly direction were received around 1.30pm.

Ms Shaw, of Sunnybank's Woff St, said she had called the Brisbane City Council in recent weeks to look after the council owned parkland, but the council's promise to do something came too late.

``I rang them about three to four times and they said they'd do something about it,'' she said.

``They didn't light it, but they haven't kept it clean and it hasn't been touched for months and months''

Ms Shaw was ``shaken up'' by her ordeal and was glad when the fire-fighters arrived.

``We couldn't even see the house from the road,'' she said.

``The first thing I grabbed was my diamond ring and my bag.

``It just raced through here and it was dreadful.

``It was right on the barrier, but the firemen are really good''

Wishart Fire Station Officer Ken Harris described the scene as hectic, but said a heavy wet season and resulting grassland growth would mean more fires can be expected.

``You'll probably find in the next couple of months leading up into Christmas is usually the high danger period, so we're just starting to get into it now,'' he said.

After three and a half hours, fire-fighters had contained the blaze by 4pm and are now keeping the street under watch for drifting fire embers.

The fire is under investigation.
