An international developer says he's blacklisted Queensland.
Singapore-based firm Sembawang has cited the Queensland government's public sector job cuts as part of the reason it won't consider any future investment in Queensland.
At the weekend, the company abandoned a proposed $5-billion tourism development on the Gold Coast, after a dispute over its plans to include a second casino for the glitter strip.
Chief executive Ric Grosvenor today accused Campbell Newman of trying to protect Echo Entertainment, which operates Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast and Brisbane's Treasury Casino.
He says the premier had been unwilling to meet with him over Sembawang's casino plan, intended to sit alongside a 1500-room hotel and two cruise ship terminals in the Southport Broadwater.
He cited the premier's job cuts as a deal breaker for any future investment by Sembawang in Queensland, including in the mining industry.
Mr Grosvenor says his company had wanted to invest in coal infrastructure in Queensland, but there was no way that would be happening now.
